So day 1 of the crazy schedule has begun. I get things done. Well today anyway. It is amazing how easy it is to work in the office when no one else is around in the early morning! And I have discovered that turning the TV off at night gives me an unprecedented focus to actually write. That bodes well, I am hopeful I can sustain it. Tonight I am working on the research statement for applications. Thought more about Westmont, seems a great place to be. Once I found out they had faculty housing, made me feel much better :) Otherwise, no way we can afford a house in beautiful Santa Barbara! This whole thought process about next year is quite a whirlwind. Anytime people ask me about it, I find myself listing out all the possible options for about 10 minutes. Talk about being in the hands of fate! It can be quite scary and intimidating at times, but on the other hand incredibly exhilerating. What are you going to be doing next year this time? To be able to honestly say, "I have no idea" is quite exciting! It really would be nice to be back down in Southern California to be near our family. To be able to do what I love for a living, and live where I would love, man Westmont is sounding more like a dream every minute. I guess I better stop dreaming about it and get back to work!
PS (I promise I will include a photo of Lucas in the next entry).
